Siftwick

The policy

What Siftwick does with your email address

You are asked for one thing, and it is used only for what you asked for. You can have it deleted by sending one message, and you do not need an account to ask.

Siftwick takes no money from vendors, so there is no list to sell and nobody to sell it to. That is the whole reason this page is short. Below is everything that is held, what each thing is for, how long it stays, and who else ever touches it.

Last updated 5 October 2026. If this changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change is posted here before it takes effect.

What is collected

Everything held, and what each thing is for

Five records, and this is all of them; the last exists only if you sign in with Google. Each one names what it is for and how long it stays, in the same shape a published figure names its survey and its year.

Your email address

Signing you in, telling you if ranges for a market you asked about are ever published, and replying to a message you send from the contact page. Access is a link sent to this address, which is why it is the only thing the account needs.

Kept until you ask for it to be deleted.

A message you send from the contact page

Answering it. It is stored with the address you gave, which is where the reply goes, and read only by the person who answers it.

Deleted 90 days after the request is answered.

The market and vendor type you asked about

Stored beside a waitlist address so the right ranges reach the right person, and so we can see which markets people are waiting on.

Deleted with the address it is attached to.

Which pages were opened, and when

Counted against a random identifier, never against your email address. Once you sign in, that identifier is linked to your account, still without the address. That is how we can tell how many people reach each page and whether this is worth building.

Kept for 12 months, then removed.

Your name and profile picture, only if you sign in with Google

Google sends them with your address when you choose Google sign-in, and the sign-in service stores what Google sends. Siftwick does not show them or use them for anything.

Deleted with your account.

Not collected

  • No password. Access is a link sent to your address, or a Google sign-in where Google holds the credential, so there is nothing to set, nothing to remember, and nothing to leak.
  • No phone number and no postal address, and no name unless Google sends one (listed above).
  • No wedding date and no budget.
  • No vendor you have spoken to, and no contract you have signed.

One thing to be precise about: the quote and the guest count you type into the lookup travel in the page address, so they reach the analytics that count page views. Neither is written to your record or attached to your email address, but they are not invisible, and saying otherwise would be a claim we cannot make.

Who ever sees it

Never sold, and never passed to a vendor

No vendor ever receives your address

Not sold, not rented, not traded, and not passed to a photographer, a venue, or anyone working for one. Not as a lead, not as an introduction, and not inside a list a vendor could buy. Siftwick earns nothing from vendors, so there is no version of this where handing your address on is worth more than keeping it.

Three companies hold data on behalf of Siftwick so the product can run. They are named here for the same reason a survey publisher is named beside its figure: a processor you cannot name is one you cannot check.

SupabaseDatabase and sign-in
Holds the account record, the waitlist record and contact messages.
PostHogProduct analytics
Counts page views, the steps of a lookup or signup, and errors the site runs into. Once you sign in, those steps are linked to your account. Receives no email address.
VercelHosting
Serves the pages, and keeps the request logs that come with that.

Each of the three is permitted to hold this data only to run Siftwick and for nothing else of their own. Beyond them, an address leaves only where the law compels it, and nobody has ever asked.

Getting it deleted

Ask, and it goes.

Send a message through the contact page from the address you want removed, and say so. You do not need an account to ask and you do not have to give a reason. Siftwick writes to that address to check the request came from you, the record is deleted within 30 days, and once it is gone there is no copy left to restore.

You can ask the same way for a copy of everything held about you, which goes only to that address, or for a correction. Deleting a waitlist address also cancels the one email it was there to receive, which is the only thing you lose by asking.
